Impersonation of law firms

Fraudulent actors attempt to impersonate law firms and their personnel in order to obtain payments or sensitive information. These scams can take the form of email, text, messaging-app or social-media messages, may use fabricated documents, invoices or engagement papers, and may closely imitate a firm’s name, branding and personnel.

How Isak Legal communicates

All genuine email communication from Isak Legal, including all client communication, is sent exclusively from addresses ending in @isak.ch — the exact domain, with no subdomains. A message from any other domain, from a subdomain of isak.ch, or from a personal email account service (for example Gmail) does not come from us. The firm’s only website is isak.ch.

Isak Legal never requests payment through messaging applications (for example WhatsApp). Treat any message announcing a change of bank details as suspicious and verify it with us directly before acting on it.

If you receive a suspicious message

Do not respond, do not click links or open attachments, and do not provide personal or financial information. To verify the authenticity of a message, contact us directly using the contact details on this website — never the contact details provided in the suspicious communication itself. Suspicious communications referring to Isak Legal can be reported to mailbox@isak.ch.

If you have been defrauded

While we take these matters seriously, we cannot prevent fraudulent actors from attempting to impersonate the firm or its personnel. If you believe you are the victim of a fraud, notify the relevant law-enforcement authorities.
